Sherri Drummond, MA CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Owner, Speech Therapy Tacoma
I am a speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of experience helping people improve communication skills after a stroke or living with a neurological disease. I have worked with patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehab, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and home health care. I am a certified SPEAK OUT®! provider for people with Parkinson's Disease. I have a special interest and expertise helping people with aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and Parkinson's Disease.
I strongly endorse the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia in my therapy approach, which involves helping people with aphasia reconnect with their life by focusing on life goals of their choice. I also provide education and support to family members and caregivers so they can learn how to improve daily communication outside of therapy sessions.
My work as a Speech Pathologist is built on years of experience forming unique partnerships with my clients, their families, and wider support systems. My services are completely customized to your background and specific circumstances and delivered in a supportive and warm environment.
Many people living with communication challenges can continue to make progress if they have motivation, support, and dedication to doing the work and practicing skills outside of therapy sessions.
Through engaging, evidence-based therapy, clients build on their strengths, practice meaningful skills, and develop new ways to communicate with greater confidence in daily life.
I create individualized treatment plans tailored to each person's unique needs and goals. Through engaging, evidence-based therapy, clients build on their strengths, practice meaningful skills, and develop new ways to communicate with greater confidence in daily life.
